The camp, housing displaced immigrants from all over Africa including
Nigeria, was set up next to the Primrose Hill Police station in
Germiston, dowtown Johannesburg.
In the wake of the xenophobic attacks in South Africa, thousands of immigrants have been forcefully evicted from their homes and have also abandoned their business.
Earlier
on, many had sought refuge in their various countries' high commissions
and also police stations. However, a camp Internally Displaced refugees
has now been set up and currently hosts over 1,000 people including
children and pregnant women.
