Boko Haram terrorists have killed nine Chadian soldiers in an ambush in Borno State, military sources say.
The attack, which also left 16 soldiers wounded, is said to have taken place on Wednesday, April 1, in Malam Fatori.
“Elements of the Chad-Niger (military alliance) were killed in a pocket of resistance,” Colonel Azem Bermandoa Agouna told AFP.
“After heavy fighting, the armed forces of Chad and Niger totally cleaned up the zone,” he added.
Soldiers from Chad and Niger were deployed to Nigeria as part of a multinational force formed to combat the sect.
