The United States has given the reason it couldn’t deploy troops against deadly sect Boko Haram but taking the lead against Islamic State of Iraq and Syria terrorists.
According to Punch, a ranking US official and member of the sub-committee on National Security, Stephen Lynch,
while speaking to Journalists in Abuja on Wednesday
said that the US
deployed troops to Iraq and Syria because there is no functional
government in Syria.
He stated that there is a
democratically elected government in Nigeria is why the US could not
deploy troops against Boko Haram, noting that the US is providing
manpower development, capacity building and the country has assisted
Nigeria with huge sums of money; which are what it has been asked to
provide.
On rescuing the 219 school girls, Lynch admitted the US has not done enough.
“Until the girls are rescued, we have not done enough,” he reportedly stated.
